MACRO is a research group from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) focused on mechatronics, control, and robotics. The group is composed of researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. The members carry out research activities, both theoretical and applied, in the following themes:

  • Design of mechatronic systems, primarily aimed at innovative robot design;
  • Control of electromechanical systems: theoretical and applied research in the control of unmanned aerial vehicles, manipulator robots, cooperative systems, etc.
  • Robotics: this line covers topics in aerial robotics, mobile robotics, cooperative robotics, robotic manipulators, swarm robotics, assistive and human-robot interaction robotics, with both applied research activities.

The group has relevant scientific output, with publication in major national and international conferences in the areas of control and robotics, as well as publication in high-impact indexed journals in the group’s areas.

XVI Simpósio Brasileiro de Automação Inteligente (SBAI 2023)
Last month, at the XVI Simpósio Brasileiro de Automação Inteligente (SBAI 2023), held in Manaus, Brazil, the MACRO Research Group presented eight papers, two of which were awarded as the best papers of SBAI 2023.  
Engineering student at UFMG Receives Honors at Knowledge Week 2023
Davi, member of the MACRO UFMG group, had his work, entitled “Modeling of mobile robots and development of computational tools in the ProVANT Simulator”, awarded as the best in the Department of Electronic Engineering, receiving recognition for Academic Relevance.
